Johnny: Greek Orthodox Christening, Sydney

Welcome to Johnny’s amazing Christening and first birthday. What a big day for the little guy! We photographed Johnny’s family session a few months back – it’s lovely to see our clients again down the track. We always have a great catch up with the parents and we also get to see how their little ones are growing!

Johnny’s Christening was held at St Euphemia Greek Orthodox church in Bankstown. It was a moving ceremony – Johnny’s tears weren’t the only ones to be shed! Following the Christening all family and guests were invited to a fun and lively reception at Vessel restaurant at King St Wharf. The celebrations included kids entertainers, pinball machines, musicians and delicious food. And what Greek celebration is complete without smashing a few dozen plates on the dance floor?!

Congratulations Johnny – thanks for having me along on your special day!

Dimitri & Tass: A twin Greek Orthodox Christening

Our cute little friends Dimitri and Tass are back to share their christening with you! The twins were relaxed and easygoing, as usual, and seemed to really enjoy their special day. The ceremony took place at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church in Darlinghurst. Surrounded by loved ones from all over the country, the boys amused everyone with their smiles and giggles.

The party rolled on into the afternoon at Aesop’s Restaurant in Sydney CBD. Everybody enjoyed the amazing Greek food – can’t go past that spanakopita – and helped themselves to the massive candy bar.  Dimitri and Tass joined in on the dancing and plate throwing and their mum and dad showed us some pretty great moves on the dance floor. Such a fun day for everyone!

Mila: Macedonian Christening, Sydney

Mila’s christening was such a lovely event – from Mila’s endless smiles to the intimate ceremony and lively reception, it was a wonderful day. We began at the house, capturing some images of Mila and her sister Aleksa in their cute matching outfits. Aleksa was a good helper, making her sister laugh and smile!

The ceremony took place at St. Nicholas’ church in Bankstown. We loved how family members surrounded Mila during the ceremony, it created a very loving atmosphere. That may have been part of the reason why she barely shed a tear through the whole event!

The fun reception took place at Bel Parco restaurant in Sydney Olympic Park, and it was a perfect place for delicious food and lots and lots of dancing! We were introduced to the ‘hanky dance’ by this fun-loving Macedonian family, and everyone in the room had their turn at dancing with Mila.

A big thanks to Oliver, Aneta, Aleksa and Mila for a asking us to capture this special day!
